It was a beauty Saturday in Vancouver, we went for a hike and I thought I'd bring the new bow along for some photos.
This is my first attempt at a reflex deflex design. I tried to cook in more reflex twice, but she just wouldn't keep it.
The tips ended up about even with the handle, but its a very smooth bow and lots of fun to shoot.
Not the tightest ringed yew, and mostly sapwood, but pretty light at 10 oz.
I don't think I nailed the bend, but it shoots quiet and feels balanced so I must be close.
She is 56" ntn, and pull 42# at 27". Sinew wrappings on the nocks, and deer hide handle wrap over built up cork.
Skins are western diamond backs I believe.
Cheers guys thanks for looking

boaaaah, nice and and interesting profiles here!!
Always thought on that a shape - now you've done it.
Btw. handle looks great, I personally like it much more than the strunk style (with I think fits an ELB perfect).
Well, the F/D pic is thing for itsself. Classy!
-
beautiful work, looks very interesting, your bows are getting very good!
-
Great looking bow Goat. Looks like it would be a sweet shooter. You have some nice terrain to take bow pictures.
-
Very nice. Tiller looks good
-
Alot of eye candy there. I like the sinew wrapped nocks.
-
That thing is awesome! Great job man.
-
Real nice work Ryan ! That is one of the best fd pics I can recall!

Sweet looking bow. Tiller looks spot on. Very nice work goat.
-
Nice profile, you got a good amount of deflex out of the handle and nice reflexed hooks in the outer limbs to the tips. Smoothly shaped to my eyes and sure does look like a fun one to shoot. You have some real nice country to wander around and loose arrows in Ryan.
-
Another beauty! 8)your a bow machine man!
-
I normally don't like the look of rattler or snake skin backed bows, but this one is beautiful. Great bow and great photography to capture it.
Where are you in those photos? The scenery is beautiful!
-
Really nice Goat super hot FD pic, Chuck
-
As always , awesome! Just really admire ur work sir, cant wait to see what ya got next.
-

Super nice. I can't see any smoke in the photo's, it must be fake! >:D
Sure red here this morning
-
You always have some sweet backdrops for your also sweet bows.
-
I like the design and length of this bow. Great work man.
-
Great looking shooter Goat! You do Yew justice
-
Good looking bow!
I know you called it a RD, but isn't it considered a full recurve, since the string touches the limbs at brace?
Nice arrow in your full draw.
-
Not my thing but hey good job....
-
Sweet bow! Nice work!
-
Thanks guys, forgot to mention the photos were takin on Seymour mountain overlooking Vancouver,
A little hazy because of all the forest fires, but today was much worse, totally smoked out here
-
chadwick - not too sure on the technical terms, maybe a recurved deflex would be a more suited name
-
Very cool, I bet she's fast. Well done goat
-
Very well done, Goatster. That sure is a beauty. What method did you use to get the curve into those yew tips?
-
Matt- I boiled these tips for about 20 minutes after the bow fully braced and pulling to 20"
-
Another killer stick of yew! I like how it turned out with that profile. Was that hard deflex in the handle natural?
As always, you have some good looking pin nocks on there.
-
Very nice work and I love the full draw picture, very cool. :)

Nice job Ryan. Yew shoots well in that design(and every other design too..lol) ...looks like a good candidate for close encounters hunting. :)
-
Thanks again guys
Carson, no, the deflex was steamed in. A weird thing putting deflex into yew when most of my yew is deflexed anyways haha
-
Nicely done. Appears to be well engineered. Still haven't tried my hand with Yew, but projects like this encourage me.
-
That last pic is badass! Great stick Wizard
-
Great looking bow, and great pics Goat. You sure do have some nice land to play on.
This fall I think we need a follow up picture of this bow resting against a freshly harvested Roosevelt Elk, or blacktailed deer ;)
Thanks for sharing!
Ed
