Even though he is still a touch too young to shoot a bow, I built this bow for my son, Quinn, this past Father's Day. The truth is, the white ash stave I used is one that I cracked a limb whilst trying to take a twist out last year. The whole fire, oil, and crook of a tree method worked on the bend but not the twist!
I dyed the bow with leather dye and wrapped the handle with deerskin leather lace. The bow actually has a lot more snap than I thought it would: 38-inch White Ash bow 25#@15-inches.
When I know that he understands that it is not a toy but rather a weapon, I think he will be ready to start shooting it.
Thanks for looking...

Good job trout killer!
Thanks! Fished a mountain creek yesterday that doesn't even have a name--caught a ton of wild fish.

Good looking bow. Are you hunting fish? I wanted to do this one day, however never done it before. Any suggestion?

Nope. Fly fishing for trout. I think the Rocky Mountain National Park people would frown upon me shooting trout with a bow ;)
