After cutting slabs from chunks, tabs, nodules or small boulders, I use a tile cutter (supped up glass cutter) to cut the slabs to sizes and shapes that I want to flake. It works fast and very easy. There is no need to run the slabs back through the saw unless they are really thick. I cut slabs up to 3/8 inch thick this way frequently. You can get the tile cutter from the internet, Lowe's, Home Depot or most tile stores for about $20.00.

I use one like that also and have had great success with it. Sometimes if enough pressure is applied when scoring it it will snap just as the score finishes the stroke. On tougher materials I have scored twice then load pressure on it and tap the back of the foot than applies the bend to get some to snap. pretty good investment if you use a lot of slabs.

I've got both but if i have the saw out i use it, comes out pre abraded, heck i never use the old score and snap
