Here's a buckthorn bow I made in feb. for my good friend Bill (Danzn Bar)
A wonky, knotty piece of buckthorn with earth pigment and true oil finish. Around 63" ntn and about 50# @ 27" draw. Pictures aren't the best, taken on a cloudy feb. day and the full draw shot was taken right before I put the finish on. Bill has shared many a campfire with Sharon and I at the archery gatherings and
after leaving the Classic last year I decided I wanted to build him something unusual from buckthorn for being such a good camp neighbor and friend. Hope it survives a little shooting for him. :) ;)

He is more than happy, ;D ;D ;D I was stunned, :o and very thankful to Greg for gifting me this beautiful bow.
I've been shooting and have found some arrows that shoot great out of it. I'll bring it to Marshall and shoot a round or two.
I love it!!!!!
Guy, I don't mind being spoiled.... ;D ;)
Thanks again, pal

That's a sweet looking bow. Maybe I need to start hanging out on top of the hill at the Classic ;D
-
We had some big time fun and laughs up on the hill for sure Clint, park your gypsy wagon up there next year, you'd fit right in.
Glad you like it Bill, I sure enjoyed making that one for ya and for such a wonky stave it didn't give me
much trouble during the build.
-
That's a challenging piece, well done sir. I like the little drawing on there too.
-
Dang buddy that is primo. Your work really impresses me Greg.
-
Another nice one. I like how the colors are different on the back.

Nice looking bow. I like the dancing bear artwork.

That's a looker for sure!
A beautiful stick, like the colors and the nipples.
I know it's not easy to tiller out a bow with that wonky sidepfofile.
You made a great bow Greg and the new owner will be proud for sure.
-
That's a sweet bow I bet bill was excited

Great bow Greg!
But I thought it was Disco bear?! ;D
Drew,
It was Disco Bear back in the 70's ...now it's more like a stroll in the park.

I had the pleasure of seeing this bow at the Classic. Greg's work is truly top shelf. Pictures don't do them justice. He has an artistic flair, great tillering skills, and a generous spirit. Bill, you have got something really special. My buddy Tommy received another fine bow from Greg at the Classic. I will get some pics of it posted up soon. Tommy has it sitting at the top of his bow rack and will treasure it always. As soon as we got home from the Classic, I saw him showing it off to friends and family. Greg, you are the man.
-
What kind of grip is that on there Greg? By the way those are sweet mocs too ;)
-
Glad that bow is holding together so far for ya Bill, those character buckthorn bows have had about a 50% success rate for me to date. ;)
Aaron the grip is just dyed deer skin with jute wraps and a piece of red mink tail tucked in. The mocs are
your standard issue Target house slippers. ;)
-
I really like the colors and character on that one.
-
Dang, that is Pretty, B B!
