Sorry to derail your thread, but I worked in an entomology lab for a few years and I learned that mites produce natural anti-freeze and can survive very cold temps.

Put them in a bag with a little borax, the bugs won't survive that.

After I freeze them I keep them in a tub lined with Borax.  I keep all my animal parts in there.

I might be interested, What kind of leather do you want? I also have access to some nice overlay material. Let me know, Patrick
