I wanted to make a new set of arrows for the Classic but didn't have the time to work on them. I'm either helping my Dad with jobs around his house or trying to finish up some of my projects. A while back I started sneaking out to the garage late at night after the wife fell asleep. Often I'd stay out there until midnight working on the arrows. I finally got them finished up. They are Tonkin bamboo that I got from Mullet at the Classic last year. I dyed them with black powdered dye mixed in alcohol. I brushed on two coats of polyurethane because I was out of the spray. The feathers are turkey and peacock wing feathers. I really liked the peacock feathers. They aren't as stiff as turkey primaries but not as soft as turkey secondaries. They are kind of in the middle. The quill seemed softer than turkey quills so they trimmed and sanded easily. I'm going to be looking out for some more. Tracy and Ozzy gave me these feathers. Bubby supplied the turkey primaries. The shafts spined in the mid 40's and they average around 450 grains. They flew great out of my hunting bow. I have become a fan of the shield cut now.

Looks super nice!

Those look awesome. I love the colors.

Nice arrows Clint, with a little luck you'll get back home from Tenn. without having lost a few of them.
Stay away from the iron fox. :)
-
Nice arrows, Clint. The peacock feather looks cool. I love that color.
-
Great looking arrows. I really like the dye job. I too like the shield cut.
-
Very nice looking arrows. I think PatB answered my un-asked question. The cock feather is "peacock"?
-
Yep. Peacock cock feathers. I was thinking about dying the turkey feathers but I liked the natural look with the white
Thanks for all the comments guys

I like it all Yoder, especially the plastic nocks.
-
You are the arrowsmith Bill. I can spot your arrows from 10 yards away. There were several of them flying at Moontree this year.
Those are quick knocks Pearly ;)

Good looking arrows, OO.

Great looking arrows
-
Sorry, hate to be a dissenter, but plastic nocks on cane.
-
Nice set of arrows. Do you sand the nodes down flush.
-
I'm with Bill, really nice work, plastic nocks and all Clint! Those peacock primaries and turkey have a nice contrast with the dye. Keepers!

I've done self nocks before and I liked them. I just didn't have the time to do them on this set.
Rob, I used a dremel and sandpaper on the nodes.
Thanks again for the feathers Tracy. I want to make a set of hunting arrows just like these.

They look great OO. They looked like they flew pretty good too. I am trying but experiencing failures for right now. Learning curve. Having all the info is great but you still have to make it work and develop skill. You have it down, OO.

Nice job, Clint.

Nice job, hope to see some of them in action in a few days. :) Maybe we can shoot a round or 2 before the crowd shows up. :)

Nice clean arrows and good shooting, where did ya get the block from...? and how much
-
That would be great Pappy. I'd really enjoy shooting a round with you early in the week.
Bow101, The wife bought that for me several years ago for Christmas. Not sure where she got it or what she paid. It has held up well.
Thanks Parnell and Chief
