Title: Need a little tiller help
Post by: Juniper on February 01, 2008, 06:27:09 pm
This bow is 64" tip to tip, red oak board, backed with sinew and rawhide.  Tried to leave the last 6.5" of the limbs a little stiff.  Does the bend look ok?  By my measurements the right limb is a little stiffer than the left (1/8").  I think I have it out to brace height in the pic.  Would appreciate any advise before actually putting the short string on it and proceeding.  Thanks!

Look pretty good to me.  Might be a little stiffer on the first 2-3 inches of the fades on the right limb, but it is minor if it is.  Maybe if you painted a grid on that wall behind it you could see how its bending a little easier.  ::)  >:D Don't tell your wife I said to do it though.  :-X Justin

Thanks for the help Justin.  May take me a while to convince her on that one.

What Justin said but the right limb looks a bit stiff at the mid point also. Ya paint a grid
use a sharpie so she can't wash it off ;D
