Hey Zuma, are you going to the classic, I'll bring ya some blue glass if you want some. I have made a few points with glass but not particular crazy about working the stuff, See if I can find a few pics. Bob
-
thats a lot of glass! hmm, lemme see.. Fenton slag, picture tube, beer bottle?
-
Love the first pic. Great points. What is that gold
-
Nice! Man, a few of those opaque ones could have fooled me into thinking they were stone. Good stuff.
-

Thats cool ;D

Just about the only thing I can knap consistently so far .
-
like that glass with wire, wee did you get that? nice glassies
-
aside from one small obsidian point, I only have glass. Cheap and plentiful. I rummage through the recycle bin often. Son rolls his eyes everytime I come home with more bottles. They are starting to talk about my alcohol problem. . .

Nice variety of styles you have chosen. Nice looking points

Agreed! I was stone poor for most of my knapping experience as well.

Thanks. I still end up making the point that my incompetence allows to come out. Seldom have a style in mind when I start. It feels like my golf game. Every tenth hit the ball flies off and makes me say "that's why people golf." Every once in a while I have a flake that travels nicely and I think "that is why people knap." I have never managed to overshoot a flake yet.
Where do you get the opaque glass?
-
I got the Fenton glass years ago in Franklin NC.
They want an arm and leg these days.
Don't worry about overshots until you start reducing large
cobbles. You will learn then. LOL
Some wee ones from "Ben's Challenge".

I made this painted blade years ago.
It was not fluted. I was chicken in those days.
I struck off a flute. I wanted to post it before I
try the other face. ;D ;D

Careful with that one :embarassed:

I hate glass. But I Rally have to rely on it for practice. I'm very limited in stone supply. The old world has been ruck hunted for a loooooooong time. ;)
-
Just keep that glass out of your lungs and eyes,
I use a fan if the wind ain't blowin the right way.

A little fun with this one.

Got bored enough to pop a small flute off the opposite side.
Decided to repaint also.
