A buddy of mine says he's got alot of small diameter bamboo growing on his property.About the diameter of most arrow shafts the way he described it.Unfortuneitly none big enough for backing bows.But I wondered if there was any other uses for this size boo?tradrick

LOL Pappy. :D I thought arrow shafts but I'm still learnin alot.I've read on here were folks were making shafts from river cane but was'nt a 100% sure on bamboo.So you gents educate me.What should I look for?What should I avoid?Are there any build-alongs or online info for doing bamboo shafts.Thanks for any help.tradrick

You want stuff that is straight, has small nodes or joints that don't stick out much, and good wall thickness.

Go the the arrow section and look there is lots of cane/bamboo arrow info. And check the build along section also.
