A friend of mine sent me some slabs to play with. 3 of the slabs were of the same type of material. Here are some before and after pics.
1st one is the heat treated slabs. the next 2 are how the smaller pieces turned out. The rest of the pics will be next post.

The next shot is what I wanted to make out of the largest slab. Then a shot of what happens when the slab already has a crack in it. :(. Then a shot of all 3. I do not know what type you would call the last one I made but I was trying a dog leg type notch. I added in another necklace for fun. The last shot was just to show translucency.

All of them look very fine. That necklace is a really nice design. Thanks for posting.

Sorry about the big one. I saw a gut on youtube use a razor blade to pull off any step fracture before he proceeded to the next flake. Your edge work is really good. Nice shapes

Very cool. It takes a patient hand to work slabs... that's why I don't work 'em. :-[
