Back from my holidays on LaGomera(Canary Islands).
I asked the Gomeros for the hardest and most springy wood growing on their island and they advised me the tree heath. I know heath as scrubs but in the Gomerian rainforest it is growing up to 10- 20m, I was done looking at them.
It is very well known as a wood for making walking sticks and pipe bowls.
Could get some nice billets of an area where a forest fire has wasted some hundred acres of rainforest 2 years ago. The billets are charred at the outside, but their inside looks perfect.
Anyone has experience with tree heath as a bow wood?

Never heard of it myself, but don't let that stop you. Try it and let us know how it goes. Always good to see bows from wood I've never seen before. Good luck!
