I'm working on a B-grade yew bow, all heartwood. I'm going to do my best to get it to one ring but they are THIN so I thought maybe snakeskin would be a little extra insurance, plus it looks cool! Its 72" long.
All I've really got to trade is obsidian, I've got 20-30# now and can get more.

Snakeskin wont add much, if any strength or insurance to the bow...Unless using thick python or boa skins..Ya might wanna look for some rawhide, with snake skins over that..just my opinion tho...
-
Right, or back it with something stronger and snake over that.
-
You can plane it flat and boo back it, boo backed yew would be a screamer

Have any pics of the obsid?

Ya I'll take some tomorrow.

It's smaller than the Oregon variety but I've only heard good things from knappers I've sent it to
