Title: Sheath
Post by: E. Jensen on March 08, 2015, 05:24:00 pm
Hey everyone just wanted to share what I've been working on the last 8 days.  I'm a retired professional knife maker but never made a knife for myself to keep.  About 6 months after closing shop I painstakingly made a knife for myself in the backyard of my in-laws and now almost 6 months later finally finished a sheath so I can carry it around!  I started this adventure so I could "afford" a nice knife, and finally 6 years and >$10,000 later I've finally got one!  A very common tale I hear among knife makers.

The design is a modified viking design and the Runes spell out JENSEN.  Its lined with brown sheeps skin, wool still on, for a comfier, more secure corrosion-free fit.

Very nice leatherwork. Can we see the knife?

What Pat said.  You can't tease us with a fancy sheath and not show us the knife

Haha true enough.  The knife in the sheath is the knife on top.  1084 high carbon steel (bottom is 1095), and stabilized Jerusalem olive

WOW!  Those are nice.  The scales are amazing.  I'm trying to get into knife making.  I roughed one out of a file yesterday.
