How much should I put on a deflexed bow that is 55" long and 1 1/8 wide out the fades? Its getting sinew and a good belly toasting. Right now its 40#@27". How much can a few courses of sinew boost the weight?

Osage? What weight and draw length? Reflex where....tips, midlimb, outer?
I'm working on one right now, much longer, so I'd like to see what you come up with.

Sorry, yes osage and id like the poundage to be 50#@25 but I missed that train. I may pike it some though. Not sure yet. And im thinking abour reflexing the mid and outer limb.

You'll probably get the extra 10 lbs., or close to it. What do you have to lose; bend that thing. I'd keep it as wide as possible where you have the most reflexing.
I'm doing a similar thing with oceanspray billets. I decrowned and will sinew back, heavily through the curves.

well if you want the sinew to perform well you might consider making the bow 50 inches nock to nock
I would heat the bow to 4 inches of reflex and then apply 600 to 1000 grains of sinew,, that is just a rough estimate,,
you will definitely get the weight you want and more,, :)

Heres the profile. If shortening it down to 50" with it being 1 1/8 wide is a sage thing to do, heack yeah, consider it done!
But im not just looking for weight increase if sinew will make lots of set ya know?
