Since it warmed up to a balmy 28 degrees today I wanted to go and swap out my trail camera card. Its been out almost a month. I decided to take the scenic route and enjoy some of mother natures beauty. I like to see where the wildlife are traveling and how they are coping with this weather. It didn't take me long to realize I should have wore some taller boots.

I've spent many hours sitting on this fallen tree trunk waiting on a deer to walk by. It was one of my favorite places to hunt when I was a teenager.

I found a project for warmer weather.

The deer and squirrel have been eating a lot of osage fruit

There were a lot of beds and almost every one was on the down hill side of a cedar tree

The deer have been feeding on the cedar trees that have branches low enough for them to reach

Its a shame it has to be so cold for snow. It sure is beautiful.

Cold? 28?.....sissy.....

Did you find any golf balls? ;D
Probably got a few nice shed antlers under all that snow. Cool pics!

28 feels pretty good right now Pearly. Its a lot better than it has been for the last couple of weeks.
Tracy, I was hoping to find a shed but no luck. A few of them are still holding on to their racks around here. And the golf balls are on the other side of the property ;D

this is almost as pretty as your snow Clint(http://i623.photobucket.com/albums/tt320/bubncheryl/Mobile%20Uploads/20150228_180738_zps15qbelpe.jpg) (http://s623.photobucket.com/user/bubncheryl/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20150228_180738_zps15qbelpe.jpg.html)

Good pics Clint, this time of year is great for those kind of hikes, you can really get a good idea of the habits of the local herd in the snow. Hoping it melts here soon, 1st week of March has always been the best time for finding shed antlers around here in my experience. I know where a big 8 pointer has been holing up and want to try and find time next weekend to take a look for his sheds.
Bub, what makes that bright light behind those clouds on the horizon in you pic.?
-
It's the sun Greg, you remember right? >:D
-
Nice pictures Clint. I went for a walk in the woods yesterday also. Like Pearly said, 28 degrees sounds nice and we have a lot more snow. Wished I would have brought the camera.

Thats a beautiful sunset Bubby. At least you had a few clouds in the sky yesterday.
