Title: Larry's ash longbow
Post by: steve b. on February 21, 2015, 10:54:02 pm
I helped my neighbor build this ash bow.  Years ago he used to shoot bows and it shows in his shooting, but it has been a long time.  He lives alone, borderline homeless, and needs a hobby.  He got really excited about this bow and the prospects of taking a deer with someday......

The bow is like 62", 40 lbs.  Larry can't quite pull it fully but I opted to work him into it instead of lowering the weight.  No overlays, etc.  Just the basics.  I have to admit that I was surprised how fast it flung an arrow.  It is super lightweight.

Great story about you helping your neighbor and getting him involved in archery.  That may mean more to him than you'll ever know.
