I have about 15-25lbs of Northern Arizona obsidian. Its smaller but knappers tell me its good stuff. I'm looking for a nice tall clean straight forward stave for the 2015 Bow Trade. Thanks

Have u ever made a stave bow?
-
....yes...have you?
-
Nevermind, had some staves.
-
I have maple, ash and I believe I still have some hickory. PM me if ya like

I'm sorry I didn't mean to come across as rude or anything, I just did not understand the purpose of the inquiry, my apologies.

I have a bunch of staves too and I was going to give them to you but my first question was, "have you worked staves before", because these are not perfectly straight or naturally reflexed osage staves, but are secondary woods that make great bows if you know how to deal with whitewoods like ash or hazelnut or where you might have to make some heat corrections, deal with knots, back if need be, etc.

Oh OK that was thoughtful of you. Actually I can work crazy staves but a good thing to bring up because I am newer than some bowers and while I can handle anything it does take a bit of fuss at this point and I have a few fussy staves already and I think I would enjoy a fuss free stave. I actually think that's the only kind I haven't tried yet! Unless it's Snakey I'll take that any day of the week

Can you be more specific with respect to dimensions? How long, wide and thick of a stave are you looking for?
-
Idk regular. 68-72" 2-3" wide and thick

I got a hickory sapling stave... could probably get two bows out of it. One for sure. It's pretty clean.
