Title: Mountain Lion Quiver and Bowcase
Post by: Peatreg on January 07, 2015, 01:44:28 am: Just wanted to post a couple pictures of the beaded mountain lion quiver and bowcase I just bought from Dave Hagstrom. I'm happy to house the beautiful bow that Eric Smith made for me in it. This is more of a southern plains style of mountain lion quiver and bowcase. It could have easily been made by a member of the southern Cheyenne perhaps. The split tail hangs from the mouth of the quiver and is covered in red trade cloth and then the edges are covered with lazy stitch beadwork. The carrying strap has the two front paws hanging from the ends and the brain tanned square panels are covered in red trade cloth and then edged with more beadwork. The back paws hang from the mouth of the bowcase and from the end of the bowcase. Both are covered in red trade cloth and then edged with more beadwork. I have wanted one like this for years and am proud to own it. This is the second piece that I've bought from Dave Hagstrom and am currently waiting on a third piece. It's really beautiful!!
