OK
I have my blade finished forged with dual hammered finger guards as well as a tapered tang.
I forged close to finished shape  so only a couple minutes on the belt sander was required  to get the profile where it is at now.
gonna finish at right around 7 3/4 o.a.l.
time to drill the pin holes  set the bevels and flatten the tang.
I hope jo5h approves.

I think I know which one I'm sending. (rainbow obsidian/rams horn)

(http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s670/cotton7611/B283DBD9-5812-479D-BD18-7E0F57A5859D_zpsnh1prwnv.jpg) (http://s1311.photobucket.com/user/cotton7611/media/B283DBD9-5812-479D-BD18-7E0F57A5859D_zpsnh1prwnv.jpg.html)

But this is not an easy decision. (rainy buttes, elk horn, and almond burl cap)

(http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s670/cotton7611/8D8A8F43-9F5B-44C0-B603-5D2EF9A06F55_zpshtqsaxjz.jpg) (http://s1311.photobucket.com/user/cotton7611/media/8D8A8F43-9F5B-44C0-B603-5D2EF9A06F55_zpshtqsaxjz.jpg.html)

Guess I gave myself too many choices. (mahogany obsidian with osage, Purple Heart, and striped maple handle)

(http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s670/cotton7611/C39B416D-D864-4AB9-BFCE-73F330B030A4_zpssc5ernc4.jpg) (http://s1311.photobucket.com/user/cotton7611/media/C39B416D-D864-4AB9-BFCE-73F330B030A4_zpssc5ernc4.jpg.html)

I'll try to make a decision here soon.... or maybe I'll make another.  >:D

I am still a bit new to knife making, but I have finished the one going to Wildman. I hope he likes it.
The blade is Georgetown Flint from Georgetown, TX. The handle is Bois D'Arc known to have been cut over 130 years ago. The glue is Loctite Epoxy with charcoal added for color. The sealer on the wood is Polyurethane. There is no stain or coloring added to the wood. I'll put it into the mail tomorrow morning.

Having had such a poor year so far smiles have been few and far between. Having my wife lose the baby, my grandpa pass away followed by my dog. As I came back from the doctor today (eye and sinus infection) I see a package. Man Rick, what a honor to have such pieces of art. I had a sneaking suspicion that you were making me a ball starter. It is awesome. The knives are very sharp, and very good looking. I smiled and sang a little tune. Thank you so very much.

Btw, I recieved my knife from Wildman.  Its offical, I have a wildman collection.  The newst knife looks old and beaten up.  I love it.  I showed it to a friend that does pencil drawings from the revolutionary and civils wars.  He loved it and wanted to use it in some pics.  I told him tough luck.  When he does borrow stuff, he don't bother bringing it back.

Glad it made it safe. I have an older very talented friend who is a perfectionist he says I have a rough finish. I explained to him that I build patinia into everything I make. If I build an era knife or axe I want it to look like its been around that long. The only flintlock I have done looks like it has been on 1000 trails and a war or two. ;D

Recieved a cool knife from JoJo, denim and cotton handle. Never seen someone use clothes for handles! I like the way it came out. sheath is very nice, two color stitching and a buckskin necklace strap. Very sharp, cant wait to try it out on next years deer! Big Thanks JoJo!

I just received an awesome knife from neolithicman. Thanks john!
i struggled with my knife a bit, its only my second hand made knife, and i couldnt knap anything i was really proud of.
the blade was knapped by Dan Wakolbinger (bowmo on here), and the sheath was made by my wife.
yew wood handle, and cherry bark wrapping.
hope you like it tyke. cheers
