Title: Seasoned Osage for Sturgeon skin...
Post by: Cloudfeather on December 28, 2014, 01:16:40 pm
I have a stock of seasoned Osage from my 60 yr old haul. Looking to get some sturgeon skin. Is a seasoned stave a fair trade for a set of skins? Couldn't find anything price wise online.

I'd be interested if no one else chimes in. Mine are all still frozen and green, I need a to do a fish skin processing day soon. I live in Canada though

Hi Sled, I've noticed someone selling osage staves on eBay that are said to be from 60 year old logs. Are those yours?

Yes, that was my post about the Osage haul, the pics I had posted were after splitting but before cleaning the outer junk off of them. Everyone jumped to the "incorrect" conclusion that the wood was no good, but about a half inch down was pure gold.

Eric, yes. Those are mine, sold a couple so far. Aside from how hard it is, the buyers are happy. Lol

Where do you live sled? I'd love a stave of that, but need a little time to process my skins. If you save me one we can do this sooner than later. I also have  ling  cod skins.

I live in northeast Ohio. These are limited, but I'm still cleaning them(2-3 a week when I have time). Definitely want some sturgeon skins, so I'll save one for the trade. How long do you need it to be?
