A Thank You for Nathaniel (Sasquach) for all his help & advice in this build. I began this build at the Yuga Bow Bust this fall. I established a back, outlined the bow, & rough carved it out by the end of the day. I worked on it every chance I could . Slowly taking it to the floor tiller stage. This took me a few weeks. Last weekend I put it on the tillering tree & with Nathaniel's eye a bow slowly took shape. I've learned a lot from this build & really want to start another ASAP. It a 55lb Osage bow @ 28". Where I come from we have a tradition of naming our guns & bows, so I christened it "Sasquach" in thanks of the help I was given. I hope ya'll enjoy. Tower

That is a fine looking bow. I bet it would drive one of your stone points right through a deer without slowing down.
-
That's one heck of a bow.
-
That is one heck of a first, cool bow for sure.

It is a heck of an honor, you giving that bow that name! I hope in 10 years from now when your sitting in some ground blind somewhere and you see that name, you think of the friendship and friendships that have started from this weird community of people that goes by the name PA.
Both Tower and I learned many lessons on this bow. I learned that through patience and the willingness to go slow that great bows can be made by novice bowlers. This is only his second bow ever :o and he had all the stiff spots spotted before I could ever get to the tree.
Some cool aspects about the bow that he didn't share, and kinda blow my mind are. First it is 2in wide, like 3/8 in thick , it has plenty of character. All these things combing to make a bow even harder to tiller. I'd say that you did a Awesome job on this bow Tower.
-
Great job on a not-so-easy stave.
-
Nice looking first bow. Congratulations.

Congrats Tower 8) That bow has some nice character...That's one of the things I like about self bows, their one of a kind...
