this one was a little fun to make.
im not sure why i picked up this stave but i did :)
i know the top limb has the worst of the knots, but the bottom limb where i needed it to bend a little more for a slightly better tiller just wasnt gonna have it:( ive shot this one alot and im not sure how i feel about the way it shoots. the arrows that come out are like little missiles. but its the feeling in the hand im not in love with. im not sure what ill do with it. i will continue to shoot it. maybe she just needs to be broken in a little more :P
the rings on the back are highly violated, the sapwood rings are paper thin but the heart wood was not. much have had a few good growing years. but nonetheless dense, and dark.
(Edit:) I adjusted the brace hieght just a tad and now she shoots very good:)

-
Super tillering job on what I would consider an impossible stave. Man, that is beautiful wood.
-
Wow that is stunning....
Sorta bow that you can pick up an fiddle with, maybe a few years down the line you'll tweak it and tune it and fall in love with it... or maybe not.
Boy oh boy is that a show piece.... maybe a lookin' at bow not a huntin' bow. But who cares... I've drooled all over the keyboard now... ::)

That is a stunning bow Bryce. That is an impressively great looking bend, that is quite the feat of bowyery given the nature of that sexy piece of wood. I think that beast just wants a heavy arrow ;)
-
Visualy potent bow.

-
Dude.....that's AWESOME! as usual.
-
Awesome bow, dude! Glad to see you back in the saddle. I can't wait to have that one in my hands. It's hard to fully appreciate with just pictures.
Nice...love roller coaster humps. That's a beauty.
I'm pretty sure the horn turns white as it fades into the wood and that the string groove is in the horn. I can see what made you think that though.
-
FLAT bow, huh? Sheesh...I doubt if there are six inches of flat anything on that bow! Nice work!!
-
Saw this come across my phone on Facebook earlier today and almost threw my phone away. I coulda swore the screen was damaged when I looked at the bow!

-
That is such a beautiful bow! I wonder what it looked like before you pulled it out of the woods. It makes me re-think some wood I've seen in the past , and left it in the woods. Oh and I think I saw my cousin in the background ;D

Wow Bryce you had your hands full there..... way to stay with it. Amazing work!!!
-
That's a work of art! Even if it feels off in your hand, it might fit someone else’s. But man, that's beautiful!
-
That bow is a thing of beauty Bryce. Did it feel better when your used heavier arrows? It would be a great accomplishment to take some game with that bow, the ultimate achievement IMO. Thanks for showing it to us.
Cheers... Rod
-
Daaaaaaaaaang!!!! Wow. So in love hate right now. Love the bow and kinda hating on you (complete and total jealousy... Obviously, I have accepted and embraced my flaws).
Amazing work.
Hand feel might be due to the pockets of limb stiffness that are the large knots? Regardless, you could not have crafted a better tiller, so you totally did your job! Good on you! Enjoy that beautiful bow!
Mike
-
Beautiful job on that one!
-
Some guys drive really fancy but uncomfortable cars. They are fast and sexy. Comfort is the price. ;)
-
That is a beautiful bow! The red grips and kinky, knotted limbs make it look like some kind of giant spider killing bow! Great work on all that curvy grain! The tiller looks great!
-
excellent work amazing looking look at it all day see something different, congrats
-
piece of work! that's awesome!!
-
...
The string grooves being below the overlays tho...that makes no sense... ::)
