I took some youngsters metal detecting where
I think there may have been an old time cabin.
Down by the creek bank we found this???
At first I thought it was an old plow share.
It's not, it's cast iron. I'll make some comments
about the piece if some one doesn't recognize it.
I am leaning towards a hunk of a pot bellied stove?

Cooking or wash pot?
-
Is it a really big atlatl point >:D

A toilet?
-
A cooking or wash pot that has been run over with a disc.

:D great guesses.
Here are some more clues.
The claw marks are cast in the iron and all go in the same
general direction.
The rim tapers from left to right and is overhung a bit.
There seems to have been a hole cast (see half of it).
Perhaps for a bolt.
The circle to the extreme left shows an area where the
thinner side may have been mated to another section.
If it is a weapon DC, I think you would have to drop it
from a tree on an animal's head or backbone.

It were a wee leprechauns gold pot the hole was to hold the handle. Then some big bad fella stole his gold and the wee little corker got so angry he broke his pot.

Even though its cast iron I'm still guessing plow blade

osage, that would be cool if it is a plow share. It would be very old.
I hope I can find more stuff around where I found it.
