What size do you guys use for fletching. Right now I'm using 4" feathers. Is there any advantage to using say 4 1/2 - too 5" fletching.
Generally my bows are braced at 5 1/2" I find that this brace height works for me so I prefer the shorter feathers. ........

Ideally you want as small of feathers as you can use and still get good arrow flight with field points and broadheads. I use 5" to 6" with my own burn pattern. I like larger feathers for selfbows for quicker recovery.

I use 4" feathers on nearly all my arrows. They work just fine if your arrows are well tuned. I do use 5" or 5 1/2" feathers on my cane arrows when they are a very low profile.

The lighter my arrowheads are the longer i cut my feathers.
Ussually im around 3 1/2" with 125gr Fieldpoints, a setup that works great for me.
For 70gr or even lighter i cut my feathers at least 5" long.
Ussually i choose height between 1/2" and 5/6".

I do mostly two-fletch, so I use 5" long feathers and they are fairly tall. Works well.
