Post by: Blaflair2 on November 04, 2014, 11:26:20 pm
So I glued this up. Sorta a hollemgardy 5 curve? What y'all think? Where needs what? It's a strange thing. So far it seems ok

What are the lams?  Looks pretty good so far.

Boo ipe bodark. It needs a little nor bend in the left tip and the right fade a smidge. I think n e Whoo. Then I'll bring it to higher brace.

Right limb is a bit stiff overall.

I need a front view so we can tell where the levers start.

I love the profile so far.  Mike is right.  The RT limb is bending a lot less in the middle.  To my eye, about even for first 30% off the handle, RT bends less from 30% to 70% of the limb length, then outer section about same.

One thing I do on molle's is floor tiller over my knee.  I have a heck of a time floor tillering sometimes, on any bow and go right to the tree after getting to close starting dimensions.  With a holmie/molle, I can grab the bases of the levers, put my foot on a chair, put the handle against my knee and check them with a slight pull.  I can feel as well as see differences, then.

This profile makes a very good shooter IMO/experience, as long as you don't over-do the curves.

The levers are like 5" long. I'll try and get an unbraced pic up.

Well got it to 28", gotta make a video to double check and final tiller off hand. Hopefully get pix tonight. Gotta lighten the mass on the tips and add overlays, or could I leave the knocks in the boo?

Cut side nocks or add an overlay, don't cut into the face of the bamboo.

I'm still working on the bow, it's all tillered out. Gotta thing the tips. Shoots pretty good
