Title: Please help me ID this Bear
Post by: NeolithicMan on September 22, 2014, 10:29:14 pm
Hey guys I know this is not primitive but a guy I know just showed me an old Bear fiberglass bow and I am hving trouble finding anything about it.

Sorry for poor pictures, he didnt want to bring it inside the building ::)
Its a real beauty with wood over the fiberglass for the recurves.

Old Grizzly static. The guys on the LW will tell you within minutes which year.

1958 had white glass. I'd say from the pictures, which aren't very good, 56, 57.

It should be brown glass and '58 was the last year without the coin, Brian.

If it has decals it is a  1955 and if it has silk screens it is a 1956.

PatM: Ahh, thank you

Blaflair2: Yeah man I tried lookin it up but just couldnt seem to narrow down the search right. All I found was newer Bear Grizzlys.

JEB: Decals so it is looking like a 1955

Eddie, PatB, everyone thank you very much. I want to shoot this bow REALLY bad but there are cracks in the FG belly so Im going to see if I can get it as a mantle piece. Just a really cool older static recurve

If the cracks are linear you'll probably be fine to shoot it if everything else looks sound. Many guys use these old bows today.
