Made this from an old circular saw blade in about. A half-hour and works better than the flex cut one i was using
-
I like that! Put some corncob scales on it ;D ;D
-
You don't have the elm on it yet? Come on Tyke, Step your game up. >:D
-
I made this from mild steel. I really like it because its only semi sharp and partially dull............ :P ::) :P so I don't go and gouge out the piece of wood.
-
Tykes works well. I used it a bit yesterday when he brought it over to show me. Too bad I dropped $100 on 2 already.
And stop bashing the $45.00 loaner you used of mine Tyke! >:D
-
Tyke, what did you use to cut that blade? Look forward to seeing it finished, with handles.
-
That's pretty resourceful. Keep us posted on it's performance.

A dremel bill
-
Great idea! Saw blades are decent metal for sure.
-
Its really controllable it removes as much as i want it to

Cheap to make, quick and if you don't overheat while grinding an edge you don't need to heat treat it. I started off making my knives out of saw blades that I shaped with a Dremmel and cut off wheels. It became a source of pride when I could cut out a profile with just one wheel (1" dia.). No problem to get shaving sharp. Well done.
