Hello archers. I'm working out of town right now, so for the moment my bow making is on hold. Luckily for me there's lots to explore and gather. One resource I've found is birch bark. My question is. Can I back the bow by rapping it horizontally? Or would that heighten the chances of tears or ripps. I believe I've seen some composite bows wrapped like that. Thanks. Renacs

You can wrap it or lay it down like rawhide or snake skins. It makes a good covering for sinew backing because it is water proof.
