Hi guys. I present my latest fighter for your review. She weighs in at a respectable 47 pounds at 28 inches. 63 inches long, with the top limb an inch longer than the bottom, which is a first for me in a non bamboo backed bow. While working on her, PD commented in another thread about there being no problem shooting a bow both ways if the string bisects the handle, which got me thinking, which is always dangerous, which led me to put arrow rests on both sides. I am unable to pull the her to full draw lefty, but with a friends help, we got her tuned for shooting both lefty and righty with the same string nock point, although the location of the rest from left to right turned out to be best if not exactly symmetrical, side to side. I found that to be odd, but she shoots great, both ways. This bow will be called "My Friends Bow" as that is who will be shooting it for the most part. More specs - - the rests are built up leather scraps dyed black. The handle is also built up under the leather wrap with leather scraps wrapped in hemp cord. The copperhead skins (courtesy of trade with 4dog - - thanks again) were applied over bare wood dyed a dark brown. No sinew, hide or silk on this baby. Finished with 10 or so coats of tru oil. The lower limb had this kink / twist in it right where the skin ends that I was not able to heat out, so it shows up looking like it has more string follow than it actually does. All in all, I am very pleased with this effort. She really spits em. Enjoy the pics. Russ

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the kind words.
John - - I could not agree more - - I've got a case of that crappy beer you like so much with your name written all over it - - or -- was that me who likes the crappy beer? Either way, by the time we finish it I am sure we could figure that question out :-)
Talk soon.

Only ten hand rubbed coats of tung oil? Ferbing slacker. Repost when you have a finish on the bow! >:D
Looks like it should loose an arrow, if push comes to shove. Who knows, some deer might walk by, take one look at it and die of hypochondriac envenomation! LOL, that bow should have a bumper sticker that says, "Men want me, deer fear me!"

Yeah, I get a little OCD on finishing - but it is the good kind of compulsion, right???
