24 years ago yesterday, we lost an incredible guitar player – the amazing Stevie Ray Vaughan. Here's amateur vid of Stevie doing "routine" morning sound check before the evening's concert. He's still yawning! Man, that fella could make a guitar sing!!!
I play this in shop often. It's a long vid. Ya may want to skip ahead to 12:00 minute mark. For short listen, 16:00 is even better.

24 years! Yikes! Awesome stuff. One of the all time greats.

And to think his big brother Jimmy encouraged him to not go professional because the road was so hard and the chance of getting a half decent recording contract was almost impossible...

The sky is crying :'( I am a huge SRV fan. I could listen to a loop of little wing for hours.

The music isn't dead and gone, his legacy is living on in a whole heck of a lot of young up and coming artists. Who are you listening to now, who are they going to be talking about some long ahead day in the future?
Here's one for ya:

One of the nice things about our years in Chgoland was The House of Blues.

You know Stevie Ray's licks as soon as you hear em.
Drew, Jesse's Dad, used to live in the same rooming house and play music with Stevie Ray. Drew was at the Tenn Classic a few times and played music at the night time jams.

The absolute coolest thing I ever has the pleasure to listen to, was a jam session with Stevie Ray and BB King! It was so cool -they just fed off each other and it flowed. Bob

I had the opportunity to see Stevie Ray play live several times. He was the most amazing player I have ever seen. It was like losing a friend when he died. I've been remembering and listening to a lot of SRV and Johnny Winter the past few weeks ....
