That is a fine bow and the tiller looks great. Should last you a looooong time bubbly.
-
yeah Chris it should, forgot to mention it has rawhide overlays and nice thin tips
-
Sure glad you like it bubby. I had a hard time deciding which bow to send. I worked 3 of them up and it was #2 that got the call. The osage was from Eric Bartels from Tecumseh, NE. It was from a downed half dead tree and the staves had some worm damage but nothing that couldn't be worked with. You can see a spot on the upper limb that was filled with osage/urac. Hope it lasts you a long time but that you still see fit to shoot it now and again.

Congrats Bubby. She fits you well. 8) Nice bow Fred. Is that the same osage you sent me?
-
thank's guys fred deserves all the atta boys he can get, the color is really something
-
Wow, thank you all because I worried over it continuously.
Pat, I received only 2 of those from Eric about 3 yrs ago. The wood I sent you was from a local deputy sheriff whose father-in-law is located close to the same area. They cut this wood for me from the same general area close to the Missouri River. I was just lucky to get this new stuff and most of it will be saved on my rack for seasoning . There's a lot of red streaks in this new batch and only a few pieces will be sent away LOL. I can't find any osage around here though I hear there are some areas where it has been found.

First of all I'd really like to thank all of you for such great support and praise of the bow. Bubby seems to make that bow stand out and his pictures are sure a lot better than the ones I tried to take of it.
Another thing I'd like you to know is that without PA and all of it's fantastic members, which include all of you that have posted comments so far and many more, there is no way that bow would have come to be.
While struggling with the tillering process on this same bow PD made a comment about how to proceed with the tiller to get better results and after reading his comment a light bulb just clicked. I felt like I was finally beginning to understand what you'd all been trying to teach me all along.
I learned more from this bow trade than any of the other bows I've ever made. It really was hard to send this one off. It may not have been my best shooting bow to date but I can't argue with it being the purdiest. >>----> Fred
