Title: washington, oregon, idaho hunters
Post by: wizardgoat on August 07, 2014, 03:02:02 pm
Hey guys. I've been shooting for a couple years, and building for about a year.
I really want to try hunting this season, but have zero friends who do.
I would jump at the chance to tag along on a hunt. Id have to look into the laws of a canadian hunting in the US, but I don't care if I even get to take a shot, or anything.
I'd be happy to just watch, learn, and experience.
if anyone is willing to take a noob along, please hit me up!

I am the unluckiest hunter in WA, so you don't want to hunt with me, but I do know that out-of-state permits are hideously expensive. A deer tag will cost you $434. no that's not a typo. Also you'd need a hunter ed. class if you're under 42 years old...

I wonder if the hunter ed up here works for down there too. Im sure it does.
would I need to buy a deer tag even if I wasnt planning on taking a shot.
id still gladly hunt with you man! Maybe im the good luck charm you've been waiting for!

no, you wouldn't need a licence to just accompany another hunter- you'd be welcome to come to my hunting camp. I am camping on long island in the wilapa bay (near ilwaco, WA) during the first week in sept. judging from past experience, there's a 90% chance I won't get anything, but the place is thick with black bear, deer and elk.

I don't know how the border guards are these days but some in the
past were  real butts. You may get in but never return.
Check those laws. May save you some time and $
