finally got this finished, i haven't done much with bows recently. its a sinew backed osage shorty 50" NTN pulling 50# at 24" with python skins, and zebrano tip overlays.this is probably my fastest bow yet its shoots arrows like darts. im pretty pleased with how its turned out. heres the pics. ps sorry about the topless shots it was warm lol.

I just noticed, is it a problem that the string isn't in the nock in the braced pic?
-
thats pretty cool man, love the python skin.
-
Those skins are too cool Danny.
-
Osage+Sinew+Snake Skins= COOL Nice work.
-
Very cool looking bow. The skins are very unique. I would watch that loop slipping out of the groove. Looks like you could make a new string with a smaller loop and it would fix the problem.
-
Thats a pretty sweet curve on that one, I like it! Also, where did you get those skins? They look awesome!
-
thanks.i just braced it for the pic i only noticed it was out of the groove whilst looking at the pics afterwards,i need to make a new string for this bow. i just put this together to get it tillered.
-
cheers. the skins came from a friend who works in a petshop.
-
Wow great job on that one Danny. I like the skins a lot. Looks like some good woodland camo right there. +1 on a smaller looped string. Love that bow.
-
Very cool little bow. I love short osage static recurves and you did a great job on this one. 8)
-
Another + on the cool skins...nice job danny...nice to see ya around and this one finished :)
-
Man I love seeing osage shorties, nice bow. Tiller looks good
-

-
Cool looking bow Danny. Love the skins
-
That's a great looking bow.
-
that is a great looking bow...SO,what is the brace height for your shorty..thanks for sharing...john
-
Nice work, love the curves
-
cheers everyone, the bow is braced at 5 1/4 "
-
Great bow great finish. 8)
-
Looks great. You can also reshape the belly side of the recurve so that there is a ridge that a longer loop can straddle. Definitely make a choice as to having a groove and smaller loop or a ridge and larger loop.
The Korean bows use the larger loop technique.
-
i was going to go for a groove but decided to put string bridges instead. i will make a new string with a smaller loop for this bow. i just chucked this one together to tiller the bow. thanks for all the comments and advice :)
-
Cool bow with a great tiller!
-
Osage+Sinew+Snake Skins= COOL Nice work.
I couldn't agree more ;)
-
Love it, well done, osage shorties forever, chrono it with a light arrow(200grs or less) and you' ll be done.
Try it next time shorter, without any backing!
-
Sweet bow Danny, nicely done and those skins are killer looking.
-
thanks everyone :)
