Title: Youth Field Day

The Bedford County Sportsman Club held a Youth Field Day in June for the kids they said around 200 kids showed up.

They did have archery there also but we had to leave before she got to shot the bows she was not happy.

Wow that's awesome!  I would have loved something like that when I was a kid.  At that age guns wouldn't have been a good idea for me though. lol

Always love those events,we use to do one called Jakes day,kind of same set up,lots for the kids to do and I really enjoyed it,probably as much as the kids did. :) :)

As a kid I would have turned inside out from pure joy at an event like this.

I see by the tshirts that a local sportsmans club was involved.  I have been involved with events like this one that is a single local club, a statewide collection of local clubs, State government, and even Federal USF&W involved events.  I have seen the Turkey Federation, Elk Foundation, Ducks Unlimited, Trout Unlimited, NRA, and dozens of other organizations get involved in these events. 

And I love it.  I just love it.  It's all about the very thing that animates this Primitive Archery Forum...passing it along.  If there is an event near you that is anything like this, GET INVOLVED.  If there isn't, get people motivated to GET ONE STARTED.

The pistol league ask the daughter to come shoot with them on Wed. nights they were running the rifle range for the Youth Day she was excited when they ask her she's only 11.

Very cool! i do not see much of that in my area. I do atlatls for folks on my NDN walk at work.
