Ya beat me to it clint

Just lightly heat them up with a Propane torch, the adapter comes right out, the taper is the same. They will be about 15 gr. lighter.

thanks guys..what about glue in inserts with threads..anyone have those?

4dog, I've got some older ones that look like aluminum. Problem I have with them is they won't fit a tapered point end yet a 5/16" or 11/32" shaft won't fit them without tapering. The taper inside the adapter doesn't seem to be the standard taper. I had to fuss and sandpaper them by hand to fit.
