Title: Knot advice?
Post by: J05H on June 22, 2014, 10:19:45 am
Just uncovered this on the belly. The back looks good, just a bit of a hump. My gut tells me leave it a bit stiff and I'll be ok, but I'd like a second opinion.

Yes, definitely leave it stiffer. If you can't leave it wider leave more wood at the belly. Jawge

I would.  Hard to tell from the back, but on the belly you can see the grain swing wide around the knot.  You might should have been a little wider around that area.  Still think your ok if left a little stiff.

On the back, the grain does swirl right around the knot, but out at the edges its almost perfectly straight. At least to my eye.
