Obviously not a monster bow, but it is from Osage Outlaw's monster Osage tree. I've been wanting a stave from that tree since Clint first posted it. Now that I have some of it, I couldn't be happier! The bow is 54" ntn 40#@26". It's roughly 15/16" wide through the center half of the bow tapering to 1/2" wide tips. My usual diamond shaped tips that i put on eastern woodlands. I roughed this one in Friday morning at the classic and tillered it around 2 or 3 am Saturday morning. It really shot well Saturday. (Wish I could say the same about myself :-[) Sunday morning Iowabow got out the chrono and it was shooting my 535 gr arrows at an average of 158 fps. I was happy with that. I carved my bowyers Mark for the strike plate so I would have an index mark for hand placement. Thanks for looking! Josh

Cool little bow, Josh. 8)

My favorite style by far,and that is one A+ example. Clean, simple LETHAL!!!!
-
You sure didn't waste any time making a sweet little bow out of that stave. I like the nocks. I wish I could get mine that even.
-
Nicely done Josh, that arrow speed shows some zip for a 40#er, especially with that weight of an arrow.
-
You sure do know how to build them Josh.
-
Great job Josh. Very impressive indeed.
-
Man, I like that. Really starting to favor those bendy bows. Good job Doc.
-
Sweet little bow. Very nice Sir.
-
I like it Josh. Good job.

Bows like this are easy. First you have to score a really great stave off a really great guy, Monster Osage from Osage Outlaw filled that requirement.
Then you have to go to one of the greatest places on earth, a place where the mojo is so thick you can eat it out of the air as you walk around. Fill that place with great people that are full of encouragement and good cheer. The Tennessee Classic fits that description, right?
Then you have to take all the passion for this craft and all that you have learned from others as well as your own failures and victories....and pour it into that piece of wood.
Simple! Even a Kennebago herder can do it!

Sweet bow Josh. I dig the nocks
-
Beautiful tiller Doc! Love that bend.

Behind the graceful circular bend lurks a lethal bomb. Be afraid.. be very afraid. >:D

Good to see that one posted up! I was enjoyin watching you scrape that one in TN. Man, that's a circular tiller!!!
-
I missed this little jewel. Nice work trucker!
-
Yep JW....just that easy! ;D
Clint...I just wish that I would of got a few more monster staves. A lot of good mojo in that old tree!
Yeah Chris, them nocks didn't work out to good! Lol! I don't think any other self nocks would've worked any better though. I do have to say that hemlock warbow was a sweet shooter while it lasted. My one and only shot was dead center. It ain't often that i get 100% accuracy with every shot I take from a bow! :o ;D
Thank you for all the kind words folks! It is much appreciated. Josh

Its OK >:D

Quality made bow made in quick fashion. I know I couldnt do that.

Thank you very much Sir! I'd be willing to bet you would have no trouble making a better bow in less time. I'm basing that assumption on the quality of work you've posted in the past of course. It was a pleasure to meet you fellas in TN. I hope to see ya there next yr.
Gee....thanks Soy. Ol buddy, ol pal. Lol! Josh

It will be cool to keep track of all the bows that come from that tree. It would be a laugh to see 'em all together again some time. Specially now I got a piece of that sucker  (Thanks 'sage Outlaw)
Cool bow.
I'll be sure to post when I use my stave.

I wonder if Clint can even remember all the people he has gifted with staves from that wonderful tree? I still remember him coming out of the dark, late at night, a year ago down in Tennessee saying, "Are you JW? I got something for you!" Wow, what a gift! What a guy!
-
I lost count a long time ago. I can remember a few though ;) I think it was last year or the year before that I walked through the bow shop and counted 4 pieces of it being worked on. That was pretty cool. That tree has not only blessed me but a lot of other people to. It was worth every bit of effort to get it out.
-
Thanks Del! I'll be looking forward to see what you make out of your piece. I bet it would boggle the mind to see all the bows from that tree in one place. Maybe we ought to resurrect the original thread from when Clint harvested the old girl and have everyone post pics of their bows that were made from it. Just a thought anyway. Thanks again everyone! Josh
-
Josh, don't do that until I go back and see if I can get the last section out of the valley. I might have to raise the count a few more ;)
-
Alrighty then! How bout I wait til JW gets his bow made out of his piece. That should give you plenty of time! >:D. Lol! Josh
-
Let's see, 13 months and I already have it down to a growth ring. Yeah, I think I can have this done before 2019.
-
You guys are killing me......
