Whipped up my first arrow over the weekend, Stone point I knapped myself from novaculite, goose fletchings and an ash shaft I got from 3 Rivers a while ago, self knocked and tied with art. sinew. Critiques wanted!

Nice! I like the two fletch! How does it shoot?

It shot fairly well without the point, haven't tried it since. Trying to think of a good target to not damage the point.

The arrow looks great. But you should run the sinew a little farther down the shaft.

Nice arrow. I bet you can see that head lined up on the big buck already.
Looks like it is made for a pretty long draw?

I usually draw the normal 28 inches, but I can draw 30 pretty easy if I want. So I have the shaft at 32 inches to keep my options open.
What's the effect of running the sinew farther down? More stable wrap?
And that arrow is saved for a buck, too pretty a head to use on a boar!

Running the sinew down the shaft about two inches from the base of the head gives the point more strength and stability for penetration. That's for real sinew that has been proven through test shots to be stronger then the nylon, artificial sinew.
