a few months back i built my first bamboo backed ipe and i was really impressed with its performance.
i got an email from a guy who wanted a similar one, i agreed but i wanted to experiment a little with the dimensions. made the bamboo a little thicker in some areas and narrowed up the belly stock, played with the tiller a bit. Boy did it pay off! this is hands down THE fastest bamboo backed bow ive ever make. (not to toot my own horn) i am very pleased with the way this bow shoots.
sorry for the poor FD shot no one was around to take the pic for me....

WOW!!!!! I'm gonna have to get ahold of you when I give that combo another try :o
-
What a ripping bow!!! Awesome stuff.
I still have the bow I finished a few weeks ago for a guy. It is the first bow I have ever backed with bamboo, and I don't want to send it to him! It is soooo fast.......
Beautiful job mate!
-
Nice bow Brycey!
-
Very nice!!
-
Very nice bow man.
-
Sweet! Excellent job as always! Could you give a few more construction details please? I have some Ipe and boo waiting in the wings. Just a width at fades and thickness of boo and Ipe would be a real help.
Thanks, Dave.
-
Lovely bow Bryce. Thanks for taking care of one of our Marines.

What a combination! What would be the speed difference if this was backed with hickory strips?
Great work!
-
That looks wicked! I'm sure he's going to be stoked. 8)

Man oh man! The artwork is great too man. I was really impressing with ipe when I was making the ash backed ipe bow I blew. Dumb mistake on my part. I bet it's a rocket! As always, beautiful work Bryce!
-
He's gonna love that bow!
-
How wide is that at the fades? Is it a straight taper to your tips?
And it looks to be around 1/2" thick if your bamboo is 1/8"???
-
Sweet!!! 8)
Oh...and I finally got to run my dirty mits on one of your bows...Steve had the bow ya made him down in tennersee. Looked good man ;)
-
Ok,that is droolworthy :P
-
Hey thanks guys:D
Umm I not sure how hickory would compare:/ sorry lol
The bow is 1 1/16" wide. If I make another one I might even go narrower. Make that ipe fight the boo a little more.Sweet!!! 8)

Yeah I really liked that one came out purty well.

Beautiful, well made weapon.
-
Very nice. Ipe likes narrow, it doesn't mind a shallow D section either
-
Outstanding! Really. In every aspect.
-
thanks guys! :D

Semper Fidelis! Thank you so much for helping my brothers with this awesome bow! Very nicely done! I would like to give that combo a try one day. I like the little bit of skin accents on the back! Patrick
