Title: Baby sun turtle
Post by: Blaflair2 on May 05, 2014, 01:36:42 pm
So my daughter and I found a baby sun turtle. It's eyes aren't even open. I was wondering if anyone could help me with what to feed it? It's about the size of a quarter

My kids have had lots of Red ear sliders and baby snappers. Live or dead house flys are good as well as meal worms

Thanks, it's about as big as a quarter. So I'm guessing it's living off it yolk ATM.

What's your housing setup? Hatchling turtles need shallow water and a place to haul them selves out and bask under full spectrum light around 90 to 100 degrees at top of shell basking height.  Veggies are good also turtles are omnivores so green or red leaf lettuce along with small mealworms or waxworks dusted with calcium supplements.

Sadly Timmy the turtle didn't make a comeback  :'( I think he was in the pond too long and got too cold. I don't think he shoulda hatched yet. The pond was very cold still.
