Title: Trade bow I didn't send
Post by: rps3 on April 18, 2014, 11:44:41 am
This was one of my trade bow options. 66" hickory 60# at 29", 21oz, trapped and tempered. I like the way it shoots very much, but for every person who says they like hickory, at least one more says they would rather not use it. Thinking the person getting the bow may be one of those not liking hickory, I kept it. I like hickory.

Cool little bow. I wouldn't worry about a hickory bow. If it is kept in a controlled environment(heat/ac house) you should not have any problems with moisture. I love hickory bows.

That bow and tiller looks awesome.  I don't think anyone in the trade would be disappointed in the slightest if that puppy showed up on the porch.  Very nicely done I love the look of you hickory bows.

Thank you all very much for the compliments. After reading my post I should mention, I had no idea whether or not my guy would like hickory, I just didn't want to take the chance. I keep all my hickory bows by the heater in winter and a hot box during the humid months, I unfortunately don't have AC.

I love Hickory!  Send it to me!

Very well done.  The tiller looks good and I love the finish work you've done.

Now let's be honest here.  You made an awesome bow and started thinking, "hmmm do I really have to give this up?....maybe my guy just won't like hickory....yeah thats it!  I don't want to offend anyone.  maybe I just better keep it so no one's feelings get hurt.".  ;D

We've all been there bro.  I don't blame you for keeping it!  That bow is awesome!   ;)

That is a great looking bow, the only think I would not like about it is the hernia I would get trying to shoot it.  :)

Many of the Eastern Woodland bows were made with hickory. If it worked well for them, why not us!  ;)
