Title: Texas Hill Country Shootout
Post by: SLIMBOB on April 13, 2014, 10:13:11 pm
Spent the weekend in Vanderpool Texas, the very heart of the Texas Hill Country.  Big weekend long 3D shoot put on by the Traditional Bowhunters of Texas.  Beautiful place and a great bunch of folks.  Nearly 500 score cards turned in.  Jake won himself a buckle! (only mini-cub shooting a self bow which is pretty cool).  I know he and Deb must of shot 500 arrows over the weekend.

What a great place to spend the weekend shooting, the Texas hill country is a beautiful backdrop for an event like that. Been there a couple times in the past and loved it, if I ever get back that way would be fun to make it the weekend of your shoot out. Looks like you and the family had a good time, I see Jake can't even stop drawing his bow back long enough for a picture. :)  Good to see your whole family enjoying the outdoors Slim.

Thanks Greg.  It was a great time.  The weather was near perfect to boot, so hard to beat.  I shot most every bow I own over the weekend.  I finished up Sunday with the HHB bow that Greg B made for me in last years PA trade.  What a sweet shooter.  It takes place about this same time every spring, so come on down, love to have you.  Thanks mullet, and Pappy, Jake will be out shooting me before long.  Deb....we'll see.  She likes getting out and plinking though.
