Just finished this black locust for a great friend of mine, Todd. We worked out a trade for Musky Lures. I played things safe with the dimensions to accommodate his long draw and hopes to give him a shooter for a long time. The bow is 70" and is 1 1/2" at the fades. Its mostly parallel for the first third then slowly tapering to 3/8" nocks. The tip overlays are mahogany, osage, and ebony. The rat snake has about ten coats of tru oil and the grip is wrapped buck skin. There's about 600 shots thru the bow now and is not showing any signs of stress. The black locust was great to work with and enitre process went rather smooth. In the end we both walked away happy

Thanks for the comments guys. Heres a pic of the handle Donald and your right ....it is dang near center shot. I didn't cut into the handle but I left some meat on both sides until I got it to first brace. Once I seen which side the handle the string was favoring I removed the wood from the other side

Here's a pic Todd sent me yesterday. I'd say he's doing pretty good for not really ever shooting instinctive before. Makes me happy to see him shooting it so well.

Hey Josh.... I've been around buddy. I never do any building during hunting season, then I fell and broke my elbow in November. It was a real bummer.... I was on some nice bucks ::( so I was out of commission for awhile.. I built a little Osage recurve for my son then this black locust. I've got a couple more started. Feels good to hold the draw knife again brother!!!!
