If you close your eyes and squint these might just look like points. The flint was a nice piece of rock. Unfortunately, I didn't support it well and snapped before I got it to a good preform. I worked with what I had left.
The beer bottle bottom, I got my first preform, ever. It was still a little concave, but I worked most of that out. It'll be good for shooting around trees. :)
These are my first 2 "points" ever.
THAANNKS (slight sarcasm) Tracy for fueling yet another addiction :-\

My first ones looked about the same. Should be good for small game

Thanks guys. Well, it's a start anyways. I did learn a few things pounding on those. One, I need more padding on my thigh. haha

Looking good, just how we all started, except for a few, chosen, ones. ::)

Wow Dave! Those are working points! It looks like you're figuring it out fairly quick. I see some decent flake scars. Man, I wished we got more time to knap at Moontree. You may have to give me a shout when you have a weekend off and I'll drive down and do some knapping with you and Brian, and Bill if he wants. Keep at it

Thanks for the encouragement, I think guy :-\
Tracy, that would be awesome. Problem is I don't know my schedule until a week out. Having some on at my elbow when I run into to problems would be a help for sure.

Hedge,
I think You did a fine job. We all start some where. To many people have to high of an expectation when they first start something new. With a bit of practice and a whole lot of patience we become more proficient. I think you are on the right path and those are some great points. Nice part is You have a support crew to further you along in your journey....
-
What zuma said if you keep at it. ;)dp
-
Not bad, keep at it. I am still learning my self. :D
-
Great start, they left point looks like Carter Caves rock...
-
Thanks, again guys, for all the encouragement.
nclonghunter, the rock was picked up in a field in Monroe County, KY while I was looking for artifacts. I wish I hadn't slapped it in two while trying to get a preform. It was chipping really nicely, even for a beginner like me. I'd like to have bucket full of that stuff.
