Title: Masonite backing

Is it posible to back bows with Masonite is it allowed

 its all particle and will just crumble and crack

Masonite... isn't that like kitchen countertop material? If it is, it would be way too brittle.

Masonite is a brand name and does not tell us which product , so your not getting a good answer other than to say ---------

Backing..........Silk, sinew, rawhide, linen, denim, cherry bark just to mention a few.  I did one bow wtih denim and it truned out good just make sure the surface is roughed up.   Prefer linen over silk.
Ya wanna use synthetic..?, this is the wrong Forum for that..
