....Here in Northern MN...Great Horned owl hooting up a storm tonight in My pine tree out front....Good harbinger of warmer weather ahead..

Yeah...Had snow yesterday, but it melted off...Still cold as heck..Owls only come back when the mice come back above ground..so I am hopeful...

Those great horned owls do not migrate, even in your part of Minnesota. Probably hooting at an interloper in their territory. He probably has a mate on eggs right now, close to hatching! He's protecting his hunting territory, the territory where he is feeding his wife and kids!

Maybe so...Saw another one dead along the road near Wadena this afternoon..Sad to see such a majestic creature done in By a vehicle..Called the DNR to recover it so no weirdo picked it up...
