what do yall do to scuff and ruff a bow back to prepare for rawhide application?? kinda time swnsitive...so. lol

Water will lift the grain, just wipe down with a damp cloth. It also opens the pores.

A good sanding should be all you need. Of course, ipe the saw dust off. If you wipe it down with a damp rag before sizing with the glue wetting it will help the glue penetrate a little.

I just used a coping saw blade. Hacksaw blades work too. If you search rawhide backing on youtube clay hayes does a nice video. Titebond hide glue is the sh*t for gluing rawhide. Warm the bottle up in a warm water bath and i used a foam brush to spread it on.

its osage by the way...just an acetone wipe down ok?

Light sanding with 100 grit sandpaper, unless you are using hide glue. In which case a good de-greasing is in order
