Now that I have your undivided bow porn attention >:D
I was blessed to receive two works of art this week from two good friends and bowyers. The other is one I finished.
Dave "DVS" made me a beautiful sapwood backed osage R/D bow, his signature style. The tips are buff horn. It pulls 57 @ 27 and kicks my a$$ after 8-10 shots, but flat out rips an arrow! I LOVE IT Dave! Thanks buddy
Greg "Badly Bent" made me a complete work of art, his signature style. Anybody that has seen Gregs bows in person know exactly what Im talking about. His unique tastes and talents are evident. The bow is black locust and pulls 47 @ 27. Its dead silent in the ear and hand. It will go on a turkey a time or two this spring. Amazing bow Greg!
Mine is 62" ntn and pulls 50 @ 27. The skins are WDB and the tips are ipe. I filled the front of the grip out with cork. I also tried a new integral grip where there is no separate strike plate or rest rug. Im diggin' it so far. The tips are skinny buggers, right at 3/8". I started with 180 degrees of twist and figure 30 is left. It was my toughest bow to tiller in a good while. Took me a week!!!! Still not sure I nailed it?
Wish I could have got better pics, but our weather is and has been Alaska miserable for months.
So that's my threesome! Enjoy all 20 pics you bow pron addicts!! >:D

Those are three very sah-weet bows! All three are drop dead gorgeous. If I did have the pick of the litter, I think the R/D sapwood-on osage flatbow is just eye candy all the way. It bends sooo sweet. Mmmm. Me likey. I think you should share the love and send that north! ;)

Man oh man. That's a great trio you've got there. They are all impeccable. Great title to get my attention as well. Thanks for posting :)

Nice threesome!
-
Those notched edges near the grip on BB's bow make it look like some badarse, stylized medieval bastard sword. That's just plain cool.
Nice bows all around.

Thanks guys. Yup, Im one lucky dog to have these and several other bows from some real hot shot bowyers. I was telling my wife last night that its time to make a bigger, better rack to display every one of them. I think I have around 10 gift bows now. They all deserve the spotlight.
A bunch of you will be lucky enough to see Dave and Gregs in person at Marshall. Amazing work these two did.....
-
Fine work by all 3. Very neat arrangement on the pics that really show them off as well.
-
Awesome looking bows by all, I see my favorite but won't tell...Really nice work guys, top of the line...

Heres one more pic of the scallop cut outs on your bow Chris. Only the second bow with double scalloped sides I've made and it was fun to do. Gonna have to make a couple more of these at some time in the future for sure. Glad you like it Chris and I'm watching impatiently for my mailman to show up today. :)
-
sweet, sweet, sweet.... bring on turkey season!
-
Great pic of MY bow Greg! Its been so miserable outside lately I didn't take as many as I should have.

Cool stuff right there PD. All, very nice bows. Well done fellas.

Whoa... geez. Never noticed the scalloping all the way up the limbs. I thought it was cool when I thought it was just at the fades. Nice! Is something like that functional in any way, or just decorative? And not that it's 'just' decorative.
-
"One from each side with a cant" I say one from each side with a can. Nice bows.
-
That bow is as pleasant to shoot as it to look at Adam. I doubt the scallops do much more than represent a tribe. I don't whether to stare at it or shoot it!
Rich, if you could be so kind as to answer the scallop question? I guessed.
-
3 great bows there, this is what sets our brand of archery apart from others.eletists NO, generous and careing YES.
-
So, Christopher... what EXACTLY did you have to do to come into possession of such nice bows? :o
-
Well Adampher, I made them each a bow in exchange.......poor baztards.....or suckers should I say!
-
3 beautiful bows! I'll admit, I'm a bit (a lot ;)) jealous. Props to all 3 bowyers on some good looking work!
-
Well... next time you baztards are lookin' to do some private trading, maybe send out a shout north of the border!

Hmmm... Do North of the border bows come with Cuban cigars hidden away in the packing paper??? >:D >:D >:D

Two things happened when I read this post. One, I am amazed at all three of those bows. Hats off to all of you. It isn't every day you see a post with three different bowyer's artwork, all leaned against the same tree. Two, I had a wave of sympathy for all of you folks still under a blanket of SNOW. The fruit trees are starting to bloom here. >:D
-
They are all beautiful in their own way. Im meeting a girl out tonight and some of her friends will be there ...so ya neverknow ;)
-
Nice bows you have there. I like the one with the snake skin. One day I will have a bow with skins on it.
-
You got the wood for the job Scott!
-
Yes I do. Just have to find the time to work on it now. Between work and a 14 month old lil girl. I will be getting to it thow. Are those the skins?
-
Yup, those are them. I scrubbed them with just water and they stuck down nicely. I sealed the edges with ca glue.
-
I would like to have a threesome and that scalloped one, she is fine..
-
Good deal glad they worked out for you they look good.
-
Thise sure are beautiful bows. Tillers look great! Jawge
