Title: Anyone know what this is

Post by: Tom Kurth on February 21, 2014, 01:08:49 pm: Our honey locust pods are about twice as long as that. Are they all that long? That looks like an immature one to me. Full ones will have lumps where the seeds are.

Post by: George D. Stout on February 22, 2014, 05:23:05 pm: Just did some Googling, and I stand corrected. The Honey Locust is more narrow and long, that is a Ky. Coffee bean pod. Interesting since we don't have them around our parts. Maybe because they are Kentucky Coffee Bean pods. :laugh:

Post by: okie64 on February 22, 2014, 11:14:39 pm: Yep Kentucky coffeetree. Never tried to make coffee from them but ive heard its pretty good. Most of the pods hang on the tree through the winter around here.
