Post by: Blaflair2 on February 16, 2014, 12:08:20 pm
I'm gonna order stuff to make strings, what's the difference? In 3 rivers the have #1/8, and #1. What should I get?

I usually buy the smaller spools of different colors. Two smaller spools will make lots of strings.

A 1# spool of string material should last nearly a lifetime.

The difference between1/8# and 1# is how much string is on the spool.  The small spool has 1/8 of a pound of string on it.  The bigger spool is a full pound.  Same string different quantity.  Josh

Ordered my stuff, bought a bow scale too, since my cheap fishing scale broke. And was wrong.

Some of the newer string material like D-97 comes in 1/8 lb spools.  Its more expensive but it takes fewer strands to make a string so a spool will last a lot longer.
